We are proud to announce that Sara Foster’s newest cookbook, Foster’s Market Favorites: The 25th Anniversary Collection, has won an IACP Cookbook Award for Best Photography, and also won the IACP People’s Choice Cookbook Award. The People’s Choice Award is chosen by their membership, who vote among the list of cookbook award finalists for their favorite cookbook.
The IACP Cookbook Awards honor the authors, publishers, and other contributors behind the best of cookbooks published each year. Being acknowledged as a finalist or winner has become a coveted mark of distinction, in part because of the program’s growing list of illustrious honorees, who, over the years, have included Rick Bayless, Mark Bittman, Dorie Greenspan, Thomas Keller, and Julia Child, CCP, among others. The program is also widely lauded as the most selective in the industry due to its two-tier judging process that requires recipe testing in all relevant awards categories.
Foster’s Market is one of the winners of The Culture Trip‘s Durham’s Local Favorite 2015 Award! Here is what they had to say: “When you’re pulling up to an unenticing building on the side of a highway, you might feel like you’re made the wrong choice with Foster’s Market – but as soon as you step inside, you’ll be convinced. The front part of the restaurant is more like a general store, with all sorts of goodies from local and nearby producers. The bakery also greets you as soon as you walk in and you won’t miss out on anything if you choose to have one of their scones and don’t go any farther. Venturing just a little farther though, you’ll find the main dish options and then you’ll find yourself overwhelmed with choice. Whatever you choose will be good and if you’re lucky with the weather, it’s lovely to sit outside on the” porch and enjoy your meal in the company of Durham’s inhabitants and their canine companions. “
