This time of year in North Carolina our farmers’ market is overflowing with ripe Heirloom tomatoes. Some of my favorite varieties of tomatoes are German Johnson, Pineapple, Green Zebra, Sun Golds, and Zebra Cherries. Here in the Market, we love using Heirloom tomatoes. Local farms- such as Bluebird Meadows– provide many of the tomatoes we use. This weekend we will be featuring local tomatoes throughout our dishes. For Brunch on Saturday at our Durham Location (7/28/12), we have an Heirloom Tomato BLT Omelet and Eggs Benedict with Heirloom Tomato Hollandaise. For Brunch of Sunday at our Durham Location (7/29/12) we will have a Panzanella Scramble with Heirloom Tomatoes on our House Made Focaccia Bread. Along with the Brunch Specials, our Salad Case is full of tomato inspired dishes, like our Caprese Salad (pictured above). Come enjoy the tomato season with us!
